🥩 Snack lovers, brace yourselves! Nearly 30,000 pounds of Chomps beef sticks have been recalled after customers reported finding pieces of metal inside the product. Yes, you read that right—METAL in your snack! 😱
👀 What happened?
On March 20, the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced that Idaho Smokehouse Partners recalled 29,541 pounds of their ready-to-eat beef sticks after two customers made disturbing complaints about metal fragments in their food. The affected products include:
🔹 Chomps Original Beef Stick Mild (1.15 oz.) – Sold in single sticks, 8-count, and 12-count pouches
🔹 Chomps Original Turkey Stick (1.15 oz.) – Single packs
📍 Where was it sold?
These products were shipped to California and Illinois between Jan. 13 and Jan. 15, 2025. If you bought Chomps snacks recently, check your pantry NOW!
⚠️ How to spot the recalled products?
✅ Expiration date: Feb. 10, 2026
✅ Lot code: 25016 (printed on the label)
✅ Establishment number: 6220A (ink-jetted on the package)
🚨 What did Chomps say?
In a damage-control statement, Chomps assured customers that “safety and trust always come first” and that they voluntarily expanded the recall beyond what was required. They also claim to be taking long-term actions to prevent this from happening again.
💬 But the real question is: How did METAL end up in the snacks in the first place?! 🤔
💀 No injuries reported… yet!
Luckily, no one has been seriously injured (so far), but the FSIS is urging people to throw the products away immediately or return them for a refund. If you're worried about potential injury, contact your doctor ASAP!
